About Trina

Trina’s career started after obtaining her Associate’s Degree in Legal Assisting at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado in 1993. Trina worked for various family law firms in the Denver Metro area as a family law paralegal and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 1999. After a short stint at a youth corrections facility in the mental health unit, Trina returned to family law where her passion to help people through difficult times felt more meaningful and rewarding.

In 2011, Trina started Denver Paralegal Professionals, Inc. and performed contract work for prominent Colorado family attorneys and firms throughout the Denver Metro Area. Trina’s contract work stemmed from her reputation and led to developing a “Level Up” training program designed to take family law paralegals to a higher level of understanding the complexities of family law cases. Trina has been hired by firms and attorneys throughout the metro area to train their family law paralegals.

Throughout her career, Trina was often asked why she did not pursue a law degree. Trina did not want a general license to practice law, declined opportunities for it, and verbalized the only way she would ever practice family law is if there was a specific license for that area only. Several years later in 2024, Trina’s wish came true and her passion to help people through family law cases has become a reality.

Trina is excited to be able to help people through their family law cases and do so in a way that she believes benefits people the most. The core of that belief is having well informed clients who understand the process at every turn and have the knowledge to make decisions that are best for them and their children.

In addition to holding an LLP License to practice family law issued by the Supreme Court of Colorado, Trina is a Child and Family Investigator, Parenting Coordinator/Decision-Maker and provides Supervised Parenting Time services. Trina is child focused and believes it is critical to prioritize minimizing the impact the ending of relationships has on children.

Trina is dedicated to providing legal services at reasonable rates in line with the purpose of the licensing of legal paraprofessionals to practice family law. As a solo LLP Practitioner (since 2024) with 30+ years of experience as a family law paralegal, Trina’s hourly rates reflect her dedication to further the purpose of the LLP program.

CORE BELIEFS

There is no such thing as “winning” in family law. The ultimate goal is to reach a fair and equitable resolution with the primary focus of minimizing the impact the end of relationships has on children.

Family law matters should not result in a person losing their life savings paying legal fees - with the right mindset, this can be accomplished.
